Board of directors

Dr. Anna Ungár started work in the Executive Board of the Company, established and managed by her late father, right after obtaining her degree in Law. Since August 2016, she is the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Kristóf Berecz, BSc in Economics, has been a member of the Board of Directors of BIF plc. since August 2016. Prior Mr. Berecz worked at the Large Corporates Division of CIB Bank. In 1999 he became the Vice President of CIB Securities Ltd., and in the year 2000 he was appointed Head of Structured Finance Division of CIB Bank. Later, he became Head of the Treasury of CIB Bank.

Since 2007 he has headed the Investment Banking and Large Corporate Division of CIB Bank, in the position of Managing Director. Currently, he is the CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIF Plc.

Mr. Julian Tzvetkov has been a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of BIF Plc since August 2016. His background is in operative management, but also as an investor and fund manager he has considerable Hungarian, European and global experience. After graduating from the university as an economist, he started his carrier at Central Europe Trust in London as an M&A and Investment manager. In the early 2000s, Mr Tzvetkov established the Development Capital Investment Division at the Hungarian Development Bank, where he worked as Managing Director. Following, he set up MFB Invest, the Bank’s investment banking subsidiary. Later he co-founded ELAN SBI Capital Partners, a Japanese majority-owned fund manager, where he acted as the CEO and a Board Director. He served as the President of HVCA for a long time, and was elected a Member of the Executive Board of Invest Europe, twice. Currently, he is a director in various Boards and Executive Management Committees of several companies.

Dr. Frigyes Hárshegyi has been a member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of BIF Plc since August 2016. He graduated from the University of Law in 1974 and started his carrier at the Hungarian National Bank as a legal counsel. From 1976, he worked as legal counsel at International Investment Bank in Moscow. In 1979 he became the Bank’s Managing Director. In 1982, he returned to the Hungarian National Bank, where he held various executive positions. From 1990, he acted as the Deputy Chairman of the Hungarian National Bank, in which position he was responsible for the foreign currency debts. In 1997, he was elected to the Executive Board of CIB Bank Rt. In 1999, he became Vice President and the CEO of CIB Securities Ltd. He joined the OTP Bank Group in 2005, where he spent two years in Romania, as the CEO of OTP Bank Romania, later he was Advisor to the President of OTP Bank until 2014.

György Vilmos Zdeborsky graduated from the Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences in 1967 as a certified economist. He began his career in 1967 at the Central Bank of Hungary (Magyar Nemzeti Bank), holding various positions within the Foreign Exchange Operations and Foreign Exchange Management Departments. From 1985 to 1988, he served as the Head of the Foreign Exchange Management Department. Between 1989 and 2002, he led CIB (Central-European International Bank) as Chief Executive Officer, and later as Chairman and CEO. Subsequently, he spent 8 years as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB). He has served as Chairman or member of the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board at numerous companies, including Graboplast, Dunaferr, Agrograin, Fotex, Vylyan Vineyards and Winery, Transelektro, Hungarian Export-Import Bank (Eximbank), Equilor, and Vadex Mezőföldi Zrt. He speaks Spanish, English, and Russian.
